Hollow carved mallard hen by Columbia River Decoys (Nahcotta, WA) in excellent all original paint and condition. Stamped on the bottom by the maker. The well know artist David Hagerbaumer had a hand in the making of these wonderful Pacific Northwest decoys. Turned head. Measures 16" in length. Dated to the late 70's.

Dick Thedens

Pintail Drake

This unique, hollow carved, pintail drake was found on a farm near Othello, WA in 1976. The rig consisted of very stylish pintail, wigeon, teal and mallard. Said to have been made by Dick Thedens of Ellensburg, WA. I suspect these to be C. 1960's. The example measures 26". This example is in the feeding posture with the tip of the bill slightly below the water line. The sprig tail is removable. The bottom indicates they were once weighted for use.

TSpectacular full-sized great blue heron. The head is solid carved of pine and the body is solid cork. The head is removable. This impressive confidence decoy measures 33" in length. Commissioned from Newel of LaConner, WA in 1979. The maker has only done two and retains the other for his personal hunting rig.

All original solid carved redwood Pacific black brant found in a Washington state estate. Unique and utilitarian design with the head/neck on a hinge that folds under the body to a resting recessed position thereby protecting the head during transport and enabling various head postures during hunting.

Oversized vertically hollow mallard hen by Charles Bell of Aberdeen, WA, ca. 1920s. There is an old repaired neck break. The left eye is missing. Paint is worn and original.
