Ed Snyder Shovelor Hen

Ed Snyder (Rio vista, CA) is a California decoy maker who’s early work is highly sought after by today’s vintage collectors. Between the 1950s-70s Snyder hadn’t carved any decoys until the early 70s when he discovered his work was a source of income to modern day collectors. His carvings in the 90s are much more common than his early decorative work such as this fine shovelor hen signed and dated 3/1/78. This beauty clearly demonstrates the makers artistic ability. Measures 14” in length. A rare early carving by this highly collectible maker.
