Rare pair of sleeping canvasbacks by George Goertz of Alameda, CA, c. 1947. See Wildfowl Decoys of California page 268 for a similar pair as well as our article on Goertz in the November-December 2008 issue of Hunting and Fishing Collectibles magazine. Goertz was an innovative maker who pioneered many different construction techniques. Bodies are constructed of balsawood and measure approximately 12" in length.
