John Luedtke Pintail Hen

Super rare and desirable pintail hen by John Luedtke (Stockton, CA) ca. 1945. Balsa body construction with stylistic upswept tail, curved neck and finely carved bill. Paint is 100% original with minimal gunning wear. As Michael Miller states in Wildfowl Decoys of California, “John Luedtke, in his effort to make a large rig of decoys to use for duck hunting in the Delta, created the most refined and stylish pintail decoys ever carved in California: they are exhilarating!” Measures just over 15” in length. Note the small chip on the right side of the bill and the crack in the neck.
